United Airlines Business Class
ex-Marine (husband, Steve) and I stay loyal to United Airlines. I won't say it's because they are the best airline out there but United is the most convenient for Chicagoans with great Star Alliance partners like Lufthansa who fly everywhere in the world.
There is also another big reason. Those miles add up and if you fly a lot, it doesn't take long to move up the different Premier levels with resulting perks. Number one in our opinion is the free system-wide upgrades earned at the 100,000 mile level. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to sit in Business Class rather than Economy!
With two system-wide upgrades left in our 2008 bank, we decided to splurge and upgrade on the Zurich-Washington Dulles return home. Space was available and I almost passed out when we entered the 767 Business Class cabin. It had been newly reconfigured with large television screens, entertainment on demand and seats that become totally flat beds.
It didn't take but a moment to figure out the entertainment (you can also play games, learn a language and more...), a little longer to decide what movie to watch. Flipped on "Sex In The City" and settled back to enjoy this (for once) all too short journey over the Atlantic. If I keep buying the Illinois Lottery, perhaps some day my numbers will line up (along with the stars) and I'll never fly coach again.
Congratulations, United. Nice job!
