Looking For A Sun Bird Vacation This Winter?
The days are getting shorter, Daylight Savings Time has gone, and it's time to make Winter travel decisions...if you haven't already booked. So many places to go....and now is the best time to make plans...unless you're looking at travel over the holidays. It may be too late for that but keep your eyes peeled for last minute deals. A few of my many favorite sites that deal in last-minute and pre-planned packages are:
We offer exciting vacation destinations including Las Vegas, Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean and more.
Take a look at any of these before proceeding to the next step.
Do you want an active vacation? Cultural? Group tour? Cruise? Family? Individual? Many, many suggestions. Use the links indicated for detailed information on each vacation spot recommended and already published in "Travels With Sheila" below. We've been there...and done it...and I don't write about or recommend ANYTHING that we haven't personally experienced.
A Few Sun Bird Exotic Destinations: ( Note: All locales can be tailored as luxury trips)
1. At the top of my Winter 2007-2008 affordability vacation list of is Myanmar/Burma if the situation has calmed down. I've said this before - the people need us. Staying away will not further the cause of Democracy. Visiting will. It's affordable, colorful and completely wonderful.

2. Laos. Another very inexpensive country to visit with much to see..

3. Anywhere in Thailand -

4. Sri Lanka with beaches, forests, animals and the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
5. Africa has: Namibia with Sossusvlei one of its many highlights. A vast clay pan surrounded by dunes that can be over 900 feet high; Ghana/Togo/Benin; Mali; Tunisia....

6. New Zealand and Mallorca -

7. A family trip - or not? You can't beat a cruise, all-inclusive resort or skiing/snowboarding. Something for everyone in the family with chances to try new sports and experiences together.

Hope this helps narrow your list down. Often, a trip to Myanmar or Laos will end up costing the same as an all-inclusive in Mexico even with plane fare factored in because of the cost-of-living in Asia is so much less. Whatever you decide on, have a wonderful winter and keep an eye peeled for more "Travels With Sheila" articles on...Eastern Tibet...Pakistan...Pontresina, Switzerland...Alsace, France...Nepal...Yunnan...and, thanks for traveling with me.
